DESCRIPTION:

MilkTech was a small, independent dairy parlour equipment business based in Castlebar, County Mayo, which offered fitting, repair and maintenance of specialist milking, feeding and washing systems by BouMatic and ATL.

The initial brief to Zetagram* by the client was to design a new Renault Master van to promote the services of a previously known engineering company now specialising in dairy farm equipment.

After client consultation, competitor research and analysis, it was suggested by Zetagram that the business be renamed to clearly establish the specialist services and build a stand-alone corporate identity, independent from suppliers or manufacturers.

The name MilkTech was suggested by Zetagram, as it was simple and straightforward, not registered in Ireland and had an available dotIE domain name.

Based on the information supplied by the client and the 'electro' and 'mechanical' aspects of the dairy farm equipment, Zetagram developed a symbol motif of a Holstein Friesian dairy cow with mechanical gears instead of random black markings on the hide. This was enclosed within a larger gear, and supported with smaller icons representing the three main areas of the equipment supplied and fitted.

The logotype itself was a combination of carefully selected fonts, with slight modification to make a unique arrangement. The complete design was laid out in both portrait (stacked) and landscape (horizontal) formats for ease of application.

The final identity was then expanded to design business cards and docket books, applied to clothing, and wrap the new Renault Master van with cut vinyl graphics in standard colours. The van serves as an on-the-road advertisement, visually promoting the business and encouraging enquires through contact details, product and services information.

Using copy (text) assembled and written by Zetagram and photographic imagery provided by the client, Zetagram designed and built an informative brochure website to establish an online presence for MilkTech. The site is HTML5, responsive, and has contributed to securing additional agencies for MilkTech of ATL and DeLaval in the Connaught region.
