DESCRIPTION:

JJ Gannons Hotel was a small, independent family hotel based in Ballinrobe, County Mayo. It was developed into a boutique hotel providing luxury accommodation, an intimate bar and a fine dining restaurant.

Soprano's Pizzeria was a fast food retail business venture separate from the hotel, to provide high quality affordable pizza through their fast food outlet and delivery service.

The initial brief to Zetagram* by the client was to create a fun fast food brand on the tongue-in-cheek theme of mafia mobsters, but to distance it away from the style of the TV series by the same name.

After research and competitor analysis, Zetagram started to develop the brand style using carefully selected type fonts and icon fonts, and evolving this style into three gangster characters. The colour palette was bright and 'cartoony' to appeal to the local family target audience.

Based of the brand design presented by Zetagram, the client expanded on the three gangster characters, giving them names and integrated them into the menu with their own specials. This menu was then designed and laid out by Zetagram, with additional fun elements and printed in time for the launch date.

The shop fascia of the take-away was a standard teak facade with mock pillars, so Zetagram specified a bright yellow to make it stand out from the surrounding buildings. A gangster scene and skyline was applied to the windows, but cut out so the pizzeria could still be seen inside.
